Before I participated in the MUN hosted by my current school, I had no experience whatsoever nor did I even come across the terms ”MUN”, ”caucus” and ”position paper”. I was completely clueless of what to expect when I signed up to be a delegate. Panic set in when I was told to submit a position paper of my country’s stance on the topic. However, Daryl, one of the crews of this website, shared a sample and it really helped me to get a better understanding of the paper’s structure and purpose. Fast forward to the day itself, finally equipped with the basic knowledge of how MUN works, I have to admit that the experience I had was exhilarating and the bonds I have made with the other delegates was incomparable. I would not mind having those embarrassing moments of not keeping up with the procedure during the simulation or the small mistakes that I’ve made during caucuses all over again just to relive my first MUN experience.
